India’s pet grooming industry is growing fast—but safety standards have not kept pace. Following Singapore’s Parliament discussion on tighter grooming guidelines and possible CCTV accountability, this editorial calls for India to introduce minimum national standards for groomer training, salon hygiene and infrastructure, welfare SOPs, and transparent oversight to protect pets, pet parents, and ethical professionals.
